Accommodation Options
Self-catering units include 2-sleeper, 4-sleeper, and 12-sleeper options. Each unit comes fully equipped with bedding, bath towels, and all the necessary self-catering amenities such as crockery, cutlery, and kitchen appliances. You need only bring your bath soap, shampoo, swimming towels, and food supplies.
Entertainment is also on hand with TV’s featuring OVHD (Open View) that has both sport and movies, as well as children’s channels. Guests can bring their own DSTV decoder and connect it to the dish which is compatible.
For those traveling with a group, the fully equipped self-catering units are a dream come true. Three of these units can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests each, providing ample space for a memorable gathering. What’s more, they boast a prime location right on the banks of the Vaal River in Parys, allowing you to wake up to the soothing sounds of flowing water and rustling willow trees.
If you’re planning a romantic retreat or a smaller gathering, the two 4 sleeper and Seven 2 sleeper self-catering units are an ideal choice. These 4 sleeper units are also on the banks of the river whilst the 2 sleeper units, situated just 200 meters away from the river, offer a more intimate experience while still allowing you to savor the natural beauty that surrounds River Cottages.
There now is also a total of 18 camping / caravan sites, each measuring 10m X 10m. Each site has it’s own braai stand, electricity (normal and caravan plug with a 10Amp power supply), access to a water point (shared). All stands are earth and grass to varying degrees. Some are shaded whilst others have new trees planted so future shade is possible. The camping sites are fairly close to the riverfront with, Row 1 almost on the bank. Access to the river is possible in a matter of seconds. River Cottages have a communal ablution facility with showers and toilets with hot and cold water. Laundry and washing machine facilities are not currently available, but the owners will consider it at a later stage.
Taxes and Extras
We require a cash refundable breakage deposit on check in which will be refunded if all is well on check out or damages recovered and the balance, if any, refunded. The amounts are per unit and are dependent on the unit as follows:
2 sleeper – R200
4 Sleeper – R300
River Cottages – R500
A minimum of 2 days stay over a weekend (Friday and Saturday)
Dear guest please note that we do cater for small children by putting in an extra bunk bed to cater to their needs at a nominal cost – on request only.
Cancellation Policy*
Once a deposit is paid there will be no refunds due to cancellations as we would be turning away other bookings for the same units. If cancellation is 7 days or less from check in date, full booking value is payable.
